The investigations of the Second Group's financial police began with an eloquent clue, "500 euros for an anti-illegal gift", dated July 2021 Napoli which today led to house arrest of two traffic police officers, a man and a woman, and an entrepreneur, accused to varying degrees of corruption, forgery of a public document and receiving stolen goods.
The wording was identified by the Guardia di Finanza on a register on which a sort of parallel accounting was noted, discovered during an investigation inside the Port of Naples. On the register, it was later discovered, the “parallel” accounting of a children's clothing store attributable to the arrested entrepreneur had been noted.
Two days before the discovery, the Guardia di Finanza seized, again in the Port, a van carrying rubble. The driver had told investigators that it was waste material from excavations underway in a shop in the center of Naples.
And it was thanks to the correlation between these two pieces of information that the investigative activity was triggered. The entrepreneur - according to what emerged from the investigations - after having had a "first visit" by the Municipal Police who had noticed the excavations underway in the basement of the clothing store, immediately turned to the couple who - this is the thesis of the investigators - would have done their utmost to downplay in the assessment report the extent of the works which, in that area of the city, are subject to the opinion of the Superintendence.
Meanwhile, the two Municipal Police officers have been suspended from duty after the investigating judge ordered house arrest following the conclusion of the Guardia di Finanza investigations into a case of corruption, forgery of a public document and receiving stolen goods.
The municipal administration has announced the news, which in a note recalls how already in January of this year, with a provision from the commander of the Local Police, it had ordered the transfer of the agents from the Building Protection Operations Unit to the Car Removal Operations Unit.
