Napoli. “I appreciated with institutional pleasure the synergy born in the last few days between the Municipality, the merchants of the Galleria Umberto and the private security that began the night-time garrison of the historic building”.
Taking advantage of the positive things that are being generated in a symbolic place,
I return to what I asked the day after the signing of the “Pact for Naples” by Prime Minister Draghi; that is, to evaluate the effective implementation of the 2011 “A Thousand Eyes on the City” project signed in the Prefecture but ultimately never taken off.
The same engaged in coordination and subsidiarity projects private armed security in public and private initiatives. In this regard I have received several reports recently from another of the city's nerve centers where yet another assault for bag snatching to a foreign woman, has caused serious consequences for the same, still hospitalized in serious conditions.
Naples Central Station and the entire surrounding area are that fundamental calling card that has been underlined several times. Despite the efforts of the local police in recent months, it would be appropriate for the vastness and complexity of the area in question, to promote similar discussions and solutions as for the aforementioned Gallery.
I believe it is essential in this historical moment, that on safety, livability, protection of heritage, we must give answers and certainties to citizens, to young people who are often victims of episodes of bullying, to all traders and to the many tourists present in the city.
I ask the competent bodies to do everything possible to implement this project and I ask the Mayor to support it. As always, I remain available in my functions for all the initiatives that will be intended to be adopted.
