A 27-year-old man was reported by the finance police of the Pronto impiego Group of Naples who, during a control operation, surprised a 27-year-old among the local stalls in Piazza Mercato intent on selling counterfeit banknotes.
The searches carried out in his home led to the discovery, hidden in the furniture of a bedroom, of another 1.946 counterfeit banknotes with a total nominal value of approximately 139 thousand euros, in denominations of 50, 100 and 500, as well as a small quantity of narcotics for personal use.
The counterfeit banknotes, of excellent workmanship, if placed on the market would have brought the responsible a profit that can be around 15% of the nominal value. The 27-year-old, reported to the judicial authority for spending and introducing counterfeit money into the State and receiving stolen goods and to the prefectural authority, was also reported to the INPS for the competent procedures regarding the suspension and revocation of the citizen's income.
The boy is in fact officially unemployed and was receiving citizen income benefits.
