Naples, the Musical Municipalities in Italy: a point on the development of projects and policies of Musical Tourism. October 21, 2022 in Creman with the participation of the Municipalities of Cremona, Brescia, Busseto, Melpignano, Milan, Naples, Pesaro and Verona.
From 18 to 23 October, the second edition of TUM, Festival del Turismo Musicale, will take place online and in person in Cremona. This is an unprecedented and original event in the Italian panorama, designed to connect music and tourism operators and to give the general public the opportunity to discover Italy's musical heritage.
At the heart of the Festival, on October 21st, in collaboration with the Municipality of Cremona and the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, the working table “Musical Municipalities in Italy” will take place, a day of discussion designed to systematize for the first time the local administrations that work and invest in the development of projects and policies of Musical Tourism. The meeting will take place behind closed doors in the rooms of the Municipality of Cremona with the participation of Dr. Paola Milo, Dr. Ilaria Casadei and Dr. Luca Burgazzi for Cremona, Dr. Marco Obertini and Dr. Luigi Radassao for Brescia, Dr. Giancarlo Alviani and Dr. Milva Furlotti for Busseto, Dr. Valentina Avantaggiato and Dr. Elisa De Giorgi for Melpignano, Dr. Addes Tesfariam Berhane for Milan, Dr. Domenico Saviano and Avv. Ferdinando Tozzi for Naples, Dr. Stefano Murciano for Pesaro and Dr. Pietro Trincanato for Verona.
The aim of the day will be to create connections between the participating Municipalities, encouraging the exchange of good practices. The results of the comparison will then be made public through an online feedback conference.
The festival will unfold as a five-day musical journey including concerts, industry conferences, roundtables and unique itineraries to deepen the knowledge of one of the jewels of the national musical heritage and to present to the public a different way of perceiving music and the journeys related to it. The theme of this edition is “”, to symbolize the union of the different voices of institutions, communities, operators in the sector, who will come together during the days of the Festival, to create a shared melody representative of their territory.
The 2022 Music Tourism Festival is a project organized by Butik, a social enterprise specialized in the creation of music tourism projects, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture through the Single Entertainment Fund among the Special Projects 2022 - Music Section, with the support of the Municipality of Cremona, the Cremona Chamber of Commerce, the Consorzio Liutai Antonio Stradivari and the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage of the University of Pavia.
