NapoliCombining the interests of residents, young people and also owners and managers of commercial activities is the objective of the new regulation approved yesterday by the appropriate council committees and which must be passed to the City Council.
"I believe that the regulation will be approved soon," said the mayor, Gaetano Manfredi – so as to give us further tools for managing normality because we must manage nightlife not as an exceptional and extraordinary event, but as a normal event considering the problems that we know well but also the need to have a regulated activity”.
"It has been a very challenging year because we found a city without a budget, without money, practically in bankruptcy and without projects for the PNRR but we have done a very demanding job and we must continue to work on the liveability of the city, on improving the economy and to strengthen the role of Naples as a great Italian and European city not only from the point of view of reputation but also of political weight".
Thus the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, one year after the administrative elections whose outcome gave him the leadership of the municipal administration. Manfredi emphasized that the actions implemented in these twelve months "have allowed us to put the administrative machine back in order, to start the competitions that are being carried out, to approve a budget with an economic capacity that allows us to start doing maintenance that has been missing for years, to present many projects to access the funds of the Pnrr and win them, thus bringing billions of investments to the city".
Manfredi: “I apologize for the transport inconvenience”
"There are inconveniences and I apologize, but the responsibilities come from afar. An intervention on transport requires resources, projects and investments. We found the coffers empty, but I am happy for what has been done this year but we must and can do even more. The path is well traced." Gaetano Manfredi explained, with respect to the inconveniences that the closure for maintenance of the Chiaia Funicular is creating and the protracted implementation of the new trains of the subway line 1.
With regard to the metro trains, the mayor expressed the hope that “by October” the go-ahead from Rome will arrive so that the first train can be put into operation. The administration with Anm and the trade unions is also working on extending the timetables which is “a priority” precisely to cushion the closure of the Chiaia cableway.
