Naples. Tragic robbery in Piazza Garibaldi in front of hundreds of tourists and citizens.
A man died of a heart attack after being robbed shortly before. The news, anticipated by Il Mattino, which accompanied it with photos on the spot, is already fueling a hornet's nest of controversy over the lack of security in one of the most crowded areas of the city for tourists.
The tragedy occurred around 13,30pm between Prince Umberto Square e Taddeo Da Sessa Street. The old man's heart stopped while his wife was waiting for the ambulance. Unfortunately, when the 118 crew arrived, the old man was already dead and there was nothing else to do but confirm his death.
The body was obviously seized and now the autopsy will clarify the causes of death. The State Police is investigating the case and is already analyzing the images of video surveillance of the area to identify the author of the rapina and reconstruct the dynamics of the tragedy.
In the morning another elderly man died in the street, just a few steps away from Piazza Garibaldi. His name was Antonio Spinetti and he was 82 years old: he died following an illness in Cwithin Directional di NapoliAccording to initial reports, which are still being verified, the man suddenly collapsed to the ground.
Immediate help arrived, but when the doctors arrived 118 they tried to revive him but there was nothing more to be done. The police intervened on the spot and are investigating to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the facts.
"I feel more and more anger towards the criminals who plague our territory every day. The victims, especially among the weakest and the elderly, are increasing dramatically in general disinterest. A situation that is becoming unacceptable", declares the regional councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli on the facts.
