Unrestrained violence at night in downtown Napoli. A video is circulating on social media showing a fight between migrants using axes on Via Marina.
In fact, the other night, as witnessed and documented by some citizens who reported the incident to the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli, there was yet another brawl between foreigners. One of them even brandished an axe with which he confronted his rivals.
Similar reports received by Borrelli are numerous and arrive almost daily.
"All control over the territory has been lost. Violence has taken over the city and the streets are now off-limits to decent citizens. Those who use them, to go to work, to school, to run errands, to visit or go shopping, expose themselves every time, day or night, to potential dangers to their safety", explains the regional councilor.
He then added: “Interventions are urgently needed and we have been asking for this for years. Instead, we pretended not to see, we waited, now the situation has gotten out of hand. Restoring safety is a priority: the territory must be continuously monitored and tough and determined interventions are needed.”
