Naples, Political Sciences: Demonstration of Solidarity with Iranian Women
'Donate a lock of hair for Masha and all Iranian women'. The invitation also comes from the Department of Political Sciences of Federico II, which joins the protests underway around the world in solidarity with Iranian women who are openly fighting against the patriarchal management of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The appointment is Wednesday 19 October 2022 in the courtyard of the Cloister of Saints Marcellinus and Festus starting at 11.
The demonstrations following the killing of the Kurdish student, Masha Amini, are spreading rapidly around the world, crossing the borders of the Islamic Republic, a dictatorship that has been in place in the country for over forty years. By exploiting religion to maintain a climate of terror, freedom of expression and association and fundamental rights have been forcefully repressed in the Middle Eastern country for a long time now.
Masha's death quickly became a symbol of courage and protest for the Iranian people. Everyone is therefore invited to donate a lock of hair for Masha and all Iranian women.
The event will be attended by Ghazal Afshar, an Iranian exile, human rights activist and member of the Association of Young Iranians Resident in Italy, and journalist Désirée Klain, an expert on the Middle East.
