Neapolitan Gipsy Jazz and tributes to Pino Daniele at the Galleria Borbonica in Naples. Saturday 8 October at 21.30:XNUMX pm
In addition to their own albums, the Neapolitan band will also play some tributes to their inspiration and maestro Pino Daniele.
LOCATION
The cave from which to begin this journey into the “Belly of Naples” is the one that gives access to this underground tunnel commissioned in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon to the architect Errico Alvino, a gallery that connected the Largo della Reggia (now Piazza Plebiscito) to Piazza della Vittoria, passing under the Pizzofalcone hill. The route, in the following century, was abandoned, until during the Second World War some underground areas were used and set up as an air-raid shelter by the Military Engineers, electrified and equipped with camp beds, kitchen utensils and a series of latrines. In fact, Neapolitans could remain in the air-raid shelter for many days. In the post-war period until the seventies it was used as a municipal judicial warehouse where various materials were stored. Along the way, visitors will be able to admire, as a suggestive frame, fragments of statues, and vintage cars and motorcycles found buried under waste and debris and today made accessible to knowledge again thanks to the work carried out by the president of the Borbonica Association, Gianluca Minin who over time, with the help of expert guides and numerous volunteers, have proceeded with the operation of excavation and cleaning of the Neapolitan subsoil.
THE CONCERT
Accompanying the evening between past and present, while descending into the depths of the earth and into the depths of one's emotions will be the sound of Mario Romano with his manouche guitar and Alberto Santaniello on the classical guitar.
