On Wednesday 5 October at 19 pm in the auditorium of the “Galileo Ferraris” institute in Scampia, the Nico Gori “Young Lyons” 4tet concert will be held, for the “Scampia – Progress through Culture” festival, organized by Ancem – Association Naples European Capital of Music directed by Filippo Zigante, thanks to the support of the Municipality of Naples, and the moral patronage of the Youth Policy Department of the Municipality of Naples and the Eighth Municipality, and the coordination of schools and territory by Sabrina Innocenti.
The quartet – composed of Nico Gori’s clarinet/sax, Sergio Rizzo’s guitar, Francesco Tino’s bass and Simone Brilli’s percussion – performs pieces from the American jazz tradition alternating with original compositions by the leader Nico Gori. However, there are also forays into the South American world with the performance of pieces from the Brazilian tradition, from “choro” to “bossa nova”.
All this seasoned with a very refined and well-arranged sound of the “young lions” quartet whose main characteristics are the energy and the great interplay between the musicians that compose it.
