Murder of neomelodic singer, life sentence for husband. The young neomelodic singer from Palermo, Piera Napoli was stabbed to death by her husband on February 7th
The Court of Assizes of Palermo, presided over by Sergio Gulotta, sentenced Salvatore Baglione to life imprisonment, accused of having stabbed to death his wife Piera Napoli, a young neomelodic singer, on February 7 last year.
The man had turned himself in to the police and confessed. The judges accepted the requests of the prosecution who believed the defendant was lucid during the commission of the brutal crime which took place in the bathroom, in the home of the two spouses in via Vanvitelli, in the Cruillas neighborhood of Palermo.
Immediately after the murder, the husband had cleaned himself, washed the knife, and had also taken care to move his children away so they would not witness the scene. Baglione had also posted on Facebook a phrase about the importance of "respect" accompanied by a photo of Robert De Niro. The judges' decision came after 4 hours of deliberation.
The woman's family had joined the civil action, assisted by lawyers Massimiliano Ficarra, Francesca Legnazzi and Silvana Terrasi.
