Dance performance 'Corpi sensoriali' at Piscina Mirabilis in Bacoli. A production by Arabesque with the artistic direction of Annamaria Di Maio and the choreographer Silvia Macchi
On Saturday 12 November 2022 at 11:00 and 16:00, with free admission at Via Campi Elisi 1, Bacoli (Na), the dance performance “Corpi sensoriali” will be held, a performative ceremony that evokes ancestral memories, archetypes inspired by feminine energy, feeling beyond the visible beyond the physical system of the 5 senses through movement, voice and sound.

Naples, its Gulf, the Greek history of the Phlegraean Fields, have become a driving force for cultural activities in the area, thanks to the great visibility achieved with the proclamation of Procida as Capital of Italian Culture 2022. The Tessere project fits into this context, created in co-production with the Fondazione Campania dei Festival through the funds "POC Campania 2014/2020. Supplementary interventions complementary to Procida Capital of Culture 2022 for the valorization of the cultural heritage of Campania Action B - Support for cultural and creative enterprises", whose concept was born drawing inspiration from the island.
“Corpi sensoriali” is the final piece of a large mosaic that involved local institutions and private promoters in training and tourism and cultural promotion activities of the Campi Flegrei. An event that is expressed through the development of a ceremony where movement, voice, sound, smells, colors, pauses and silence create an agreement of empty and full spaces that alternate in a sublime dance of deep listening of the soul, penetrating the space between light, shadow and darkness; between visible and invisible, beyond separation and dualism.
Approximately eight professional artists will be involved, including dancers, performers, musicians, selected through an international call, with the aim of building a path aimed at rooting and amplifying the process of physical, sensorial and energetic awareness.
To participate in the free workshop, held under the patronage of the Municipality of Bacoli, aimed at people of both sexes aged 18 to 50 who have a sensitivity and/or experience with bodywork, you must send an online application to info@centroarabesque.it by 23:00 p.m. on November 2, 2022, attaching a cover letter, portrait photo and full-length photo, statement of availability for the dates November 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2022, a copy of your identification document and tax code.
The location of the performance is Piscina Mirabilis, the largest and most monumental cistern of drinking water ever built by the ancient Romans. It had the function of supplying water to the numerous ships belonging to the Classis Misenensis of the Roman Navy, once moored in the nearby port of Miseno.
The event's promoter is the ARB Dance Company, born from a rib of Arabesque in 2009, made up of young dancers with great artistic sensitivity, eager to undertake a professional path in the name of quality and innovation under the artistic direction of Annamaria di Maio, a well-known choreographer and dance teacher. Since 2022, Arabesque has been recognized as a Dance Production Organization by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
