The African anticyclone that has brought truly exceptional temperatures in recent days, not only in Italy but also in Europe, will suffer a strong attack in the middle of this week. According to meteorologists, the "first signs of change will materialize already on All Saints' Day in the Northwest, where the advanced part of an active perturbation over France will bring clouds and even some rain, especially in the Western Alps.
Still nothing done in the rest of Italy with stable weather and still decidedly hot, although in the Northeast and central regions there will be a progressive increase in cloudiness, with even a few drops not excluded at the end of the day between Emilia and Triveneto”.
Between Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 November the humid Atlantic currents will further bend the anticyclone extending their radius of action to much of the Centre-North here the sky will often be crowded with clouds, especially between Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Liguria and in general on the areas north of the Po, where local showers will also be possible. The stable weather will persist in the South where however the skies will be 'dirtied' by the passage of high clouds.
The real turning point, however, should materialize between the evening of November 3 and Friday, November 4, when a more incisive disturbance from the North Atlantic seems to be arriving at full speed, crossing Italy from North to South, bringing showers and thunderstorms, even of strong intensity. Local cloudbursts or in any case heavy rains are not excluded, especially in Lombardy, Eastern Liguria, the Northeast in general, and subsequently the entire Tyrrhenian coast from Tuscany to Sicily.
Some showers or thunderstorms locally could also affect the Adriatic coast and Sardinia, but in this case they will generally be more rapid and localized phenomena. During the weekend, residual instability in the South and on the middle Adriatic coast, while in the rest of Italy the weather will tend to improve.
The disturbance will be accompanied by strong winds, first of all from the Sirocco and Libeccio, then from the Tramontana and Maestrale. The latter will bring decidedly colder air to Italy, this time of a typically autumnal nature, with a temperature drop of even more than 8-10°C compared to these days starting from the North. The temperature drop could be even more marked in the Alps, even in the order of 12-14°C at altitude, so much so that snow could arrive at times even below 1500-1600m altitude.
