There will therefore be a partial but irregular development of increased convective activity, in other words more thunderstorms. On the horizon, weather models see a possible worsening from the middle of next week. We will have to be careful of potential cloudbursts along the coasts (the sea is still warm with a positive anomaly of up to +4°C on the Western Mediterranean and along the southern Italian coasts).
But we will also have to be careful of the classic persistent autumn rains that will fall on very dry soil: as we know, when the rain arrives on dry soil, the infiltration is less and there is a risk of total runoff. In other words, all the water that rains ends up in the rivers immediately, creating rapid, very dangerous flood waves. It could be the end of Summer 2022, but be careful: the expected Novembrata could only be delayed.
