An impact operation supported by the Navy and Coast Guard.
Saturday 8 October – starting at 8am – Monache beach in Posillipo.

Rosario Santanastasio (National President of the Archeoclub of Italy). “The boys with the citizens of Naples and with our volunteers will clean the beach. Our divers with the support of the Navy, Coast Guard, Military Corps of Malta, Arpa Campania, will dive to check the state of the seabed and clean it. The operations of the divers will be covered by underwater cameras”.
Francesca Esposito (Social Activities Representative of MareNostrum): "It's the first operation of this kind with the kids from the Juvenile Justice Center who are participating in the Bust Busters project. They are attending the theoretical phase and therefore they will not immerse themselves but will create a community with all the others in active participation in the protection of the environmental and cultural heritage, in this case of Naples".
Operations start at 8am – first press briefing at 10:30am – final briefing at 12:30pm. The press will also have the images filmed by the divers.
A project that also benefits from the collaboration with the Circolo Savoia.
“Saturday morning, with the boys from the Juvenile Justice Center who are participating in the Bust Busters project, we will bring to life a major environmental recovery operation of an important site in the Gulf of Naples: we will descend to the seabed of the Gulf of Naples, to clean them, with the support of the Navy and the Coast Guard. Therefore, we will have the presence of their intervention vehicles. The press will be able to attend all the operations: preparation phase, cleaning of the beach and perhaps even go aboard some Coast Guard vehicles. As soon as possible, we will also release the images filmed on the seabed. The starting beach will be that of the Monache in Posillipo. It is a symbolic place in the city of Naples, in fact it is called of the Monache because in ancient times there was a Convent in that place.
On October 2022, 8,00, from 13,00:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX, “MareNostrum Sezione Sant'Erasmo”, a specialized structure of Archeoclub D'Italia for the protection of underwater environmental and cultural heritage, will be engaged with its volunteer divers of Archeoclub d'Italia APS, in beach and seabed cleaning operations at the Posillipo nuns' beach. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Naples, the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Campania Region, being considered of great social importance and above all aimed at promoting the enhancement of the territory of our Region”.
This was announced by Francesca Esposito, Social Activities Manager of “Marenostrum”, an underwater structure of Archeoclub D'Italia.
Operations that will be supported and assisted by the Navy.
“The operations of Archeoclub d'Italia APS will be supported and assisted by the Navy which will support the MareNostrum divers with its own means, by the Military Corps of Malta which will provide logistical support and first aid – declared Rosario Santanastasio, National President of Archeoclub D'Italia – from the Juvenile Justice Center of Naples with the kids from the communities that participate in the Bust Buster project, from ARPA Campania and from citizens who are sensitive to these issues. A project that also benefits from the collaboration with the Circolo Savoia. The kids from the Juvenile Center will not be part of the immersion phase as they are taking theory and training courses but will actively participate in the beach cleaning activity. This day will not only have the purpose of environmental protection and raising awareness among citizens about the territory, but will be a real moment of social inclusion”.
