Lto the Financial Police of the Provincial Command of Salerno, as Halloween approaches, has intensified controls to combat counterfeiting and alteration of goods on sale: in the crosshairs, the trade of unsafe items that are potentially dangerous to the health of buyers.
And precisely within the scope of the aforementioned interventions, the Fiamme Gialle of the Compagnia di Vallo della Lucania, after targeted inspections, identified a large warehouse that, on the occasion of the approaching “Night of the Witches”, had set up a large part of the shop with numerous themed accessories and gadgets.
Upon closer inspection, a large part of the goods, ready for sale, turned out not to comply with the provisions of the Consumer Code, as they lacked the minimum identifying information, such as data relating to the manufacturer and/or importer, the country of origin, the nature of the materials used for their production.
All information that, by law, must be present on the packages or on the respective labels, in a visible, legible way and in Italian. In fact, the affixing of such wording guarantees the final consumer the awareness of the quality of the product he is about to purchase and, above all, its use in complete safety.
The irregular goods, worth over 10 thousand euros, were subjected to administrative seizure and the owner of the commercial establishment was reported to the competent Chamber of Commerce and now risks a fine ranging from a minimum of 250 to a maximum of 25 thousand euros.
