Gina Ricciardello, the 30-year-old from Falciano del Massico who doused herself in flammable liquid and set herself on fire, died a week after being admitted to the hospital. She was rushed from the runway of the 9th Wing “F. Baracca” of the Italian Air Force in Grazzanise.
The operation was carried out at the request of the Operations Center of the “118” service. The Grazzanise military airport immediately took action, allowing rapid access to the Caserta air base for the ambulance coming from the Pineta Grande hospital in Castel Volturno, and promptly authorized the landing of the 169 A-118 helicopter. After a week of hope, however, the tragic news: Gina's heart stopped beating, throwing her loved ones into despair.

Meanwhile, still in the Caserta area, the 48-year-old who, on Thursday evening, had injured himself while cleaning a vintage gun that was in his possession, died in hospital after 90 hours. His heart of man could not withstand the consequences of the shot.
The elderly man had been rescued by the Carabinieri and 118 in his home in Alvignano after he had accidentally fired a shot, injuring himself in a hand and left leg. The man had been transported to the Piedimonte Matese civil hospital, where he had been admitted. At first his physical conditions did not seem serious, but they continued to worsen until his death.
