Torre Annunziata, The Paranza of Ideas: “Blue stripes, we start again. Let’s hope on the right path”. Granting the management of the paid parking service to third parties, through a tender
The blue stripes regulation prepared by the Ascione Board will be set aside: hoping that the subsequent steps will confirm it, we are therefore moving in the direction we have often hoped for.
With a recent resolution, the Extraordinary Commission of the Municipality of Torre Annunziata reaffirmed the will already expressed by the previous Administrations to entrust the management of the paid parking service to third parties, through a tender and after determining, with a specific act accompanied by a technical report, the areas to be allocated to the blue lines and the related hourly rates.
It is positive that we are trying to restore a service that, also due to the procedural irregularities committed in the previous attempt to assign the contract made by the Ascione Administration, has been stopped for almost two years, with negative consequences both for traffic and for the municipal coffers.
It is also positive that the Commission wants to overcome the resolution with which the Council of the former PD mayor had previously identified the paid parking areas and the related rates and towards which, even in various meetings with the Commission itself, we have made more than one criticism.
Our hope is that, unlike what happened in the past, in the new act the remodulation of the parking space arrangement does not translate into a substantial generalized increase in the spaces subject to charges and instead takes into account the need for an adequate offer of free parking, to be detected with a specific technical study, in the areas with the highest population density.
We also hope that, given the recent example of Boscoreale and especially if a high basic rate were to be chosen again, season tickets will be provided for resident or domiciled users as well as for other types of users (traders, workers and commuting students, etc.) at different but still discounted prices; finally, that holidays will have a different regulation.
