Episodes of attacks on tourists and hikers were the order of the day. Many stray dogs roamed free among the centuries-old beech trees of Mount Faito.
And that's how the carabinieri of the station Vico Equense, together with the ASL veterinary staff, organized a search party to track down the most dangerous specimens and secure tourists and animals themselves.
Three large dogs were identified, without chips and in terrible hygienic conditions. They were entrusted to the ASL specialists.
The bloodhounds were leading a flock of sheep that was grazing without any authorization along the slopes of Faito. Thanks to checks carried out on site, the military were able to locate and identify the owner of the animals. It appears to be a 41-year-old from Gragnano already known to the police. The man was administratively sanctioned.
