3617 packets of contraband cigarettes, boxed up and hidden in a bunker reminiscent of those used by fugitives. A small trapdoor hidden in the floor, covered by a green carpet, plastic tables and chairs.
Inside the compartment, also equipped with a lighting system, there are dozens of packages containing “blondes” of various foreign and national brands.
The 52-year-old Gilda Scognamiglio and a 22-year-old woman with no criminal record ended up in handcuffs and were arrested by the Carabinieri of the Poggioreale operational unit.
Under house arrest, they are waiting to tell the judge why they hid over 72 kilos of cigarettes without monopoly seals. The investigation continues to find out where they bought the cigarettes and from whom and on whose behalf they operated in the Volla area.
