Walter Schiavone attacked a prison police officer at the Milan Opera prison over a can of bleach
. For this reason Walter Schiavone, 61 years old brother of the Casalesi clan leader Francesco Schiavone Sandokan, was accused of resisting and injuring a public official.
The incident occurred six days ago inside Milan's Opera prison, when Schiavone complained that the officer had only given him one of the two packages of bleach he had requested and paid for.

These accusations prompted the Prosecutor's Office to request a pre-trial detention order for Schiavone. Preliminary Investigating Judge Alessandra Di Fazio, however, rejected the request. As explained in the order, this decision was made because the 61-year-old has already been held under strict prison conditions "for years, having been sentenced to life imprisonment" and "the offence at issue today is of modest importance."
