Weekend of culture and entertainment with Campania By Night: extraordinary openings. The Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the Abbey of Goleto, Stabia and Oplontis
The Scabec review is ready to illuminate some of the most evocative cultural places in Campania.
From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 October, the 2022 edition of Campania By Night enters some of the most evocative cultural locations in the Campania region with music, guided tours and meetings with authors.
The intense weekend of the series of extraordinary night openings planned and financed by the Campania Region (Poc 2014-2020) and organized and promoted by Scabec, Società Campana Beni Culturali kicks off from the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.
On Friday 7 October, at 19.00:XNUMX pm, the North Portico of the Palestra Grande degli Scavi di Pompei will host the last event of the “Palestra Culturale” series.
The closing of the cycle of events is entrusted to “Pompei for Ukraine. A letter from the front”, a review of film works and moving images by contemporary artists from Ukraine, originally commissioned and produced by Castello di Rivoli after the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The program is curated by Nikita Kadan, born in 1982 and living and working in Kiev, with Giulia Colletti, curator of digital and public projects at Castello di Rivoli.
Again on Friday 7 October, at 17.00:1133 pm, you can take part in free walks to admire the Goleto Abbey (AV), a place of prayer, spirituality and hospitality whose construction dates back to XNUMX by Guglielmo da Vercelli, patron saint of Irpinia.
Following, around 19.00:XNUMX p.m., the Cantori di Posillipo will perform “La Canzone Napoletana. Storia, passione e musica di una città”, directed by maestro Gaetano Raiola.
A musical tale of the evolution of Neapolitan song by great authors such as Salvatore di Giacomo, Libero Bovio, Ferdinando Russo, Salvatore Gambardella and even the very famous Gioacchino Rossini, who wanted to dedicate to the city that had so warmly celebrated his operatic music, the dance that represented the life of a people, namely the Tarantella.
On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October, the Libero D'Orsi Archaeological Museum in Castellammare di Stabia will host the theatrical visit “Where is Stabia? Dreamlike journey through the rooms of the Libero D'Orsi Museum” curated by Collettivo LaCorsa, an event that will be held in two shifts at 19 and 20 pm.
An initiative aimed at discovering the figure of Libero D'Orsi, an archaeologist from Castellammare di Stabia who is responsible for the discovery of the finds that can be admired inside the museum of the same name.
A show interpreted in a dreamlike way that will lead the spectator to a timeless place in which the Narcissus of stucco will come to life and body to finally be able to tell his story with his voice. A fairy tale that allows you to get lost, search and finally find yourself again.
Finally, on Sunday 9 October, the long weekend of Campania By Night will conclude at the archaeological site of Oplontis – Villa di Poppea with the show “Memorie di Oplontis” by the ShowLab Association.
During three shifts of visits that will start at 20, 21 and 22 pm, it will be possible to discover all the timeless beauty of the ancient villa thanks to a fascinating theatrical journey put on by musicians and actors.
By relying on an expert guide and a smartphone App that will act as a map, it will be possible to learn the history behind the immense and labyrinthine structure through the performances of artists that can be admired inside some rooms such as the Tablinium, the Pool and the Viridarium.
The events are free with mandatory reservation on the website; the reservation will expire 15 minutes before the start of the event.
