The solo piano concert by Antonio Fresa with the extraordinary participation of Pietra Montecorvino, on Saturday 19 November, will exceptionally open the doors of the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro (19.30:149 pm, via Duomo 2021) for a show where the music that the Neapolitan composer dedicated to the Saint will be the protagonists, written for the soundtrack of the new audio guide, produced by D'Uva, the company that has been managing the Treasure of San Gennaro since October XNUMX.

The concert is free to enter, with limited seating and mandatory reservations at www.tesorosangennaro.it.

Antonio Fresa, pianist, composer and conductor, always a passionate author of evocative music for images, will guide the audience with his refined music in a real soundtrack experience, between classical and contemporary influences, minimal sounds and fragments with a jazzy color. A journey in music, in the known and lesser-known stories of the Treasure and the life of San Gennaro.

The program includes some of the most representative compositions written by Fresa for “Un Tesoro di audioguida”, the original audio guide of the museum that since June 2022 has accompanied the public in visiting the exhibition spaces.

Alongside Fresa will be the extraordinary voice of Pietra Montecorvino in the interpretation of “San Gennaro mio putente”, the composition that recalls the litany with which the “relatives” of San Gennaro turn to the Saint to entrust themselves to perform the miracle. With the piece “Le ampolle” the composer dedicates his music to the story of Eusebia, the Saint’s nurse, who collects the Blood of San Gennaro in the desolation of the Solfatara after his beheading, while with 'O Rre scugnizzo” he will immerse the spectators in the tradition, cosmopolitan culture and Neapolitan folklore, to then continue with “1527” that recalls the date of January 13, 1527, when the Neapolitan people solemnly committed themselves with the vow in the “contract” between Naples and San Gennaro. The most intimate piece “Jordano fecit” will put the composer in touch with the listener, almost as if he were whispering, one note at a time, the unfolding of the musical narration.
