Construction site inspection in Sannio, 2 entrepreneurs reported. Substandard construction sites and poor safety: the complaint is filed

During checks on compliance with regulations for the protection of health and safety in the workplace, the Carabinieri of the Castelfranco in Miscano Station and the Labor Inspectorate of Benevento reported two entrepreneurs, a man and a woman, both active in the construction sector, and a technician coordinating construction site safety.

An inspection of a construction site set up for the renovation of a private home showed that the entrepreneur had used ladders that were not suitable for preventing people from falling; had not adopted, when working at height, adequate scaffolding, provisional works or precautions to eliminate the risk of people or things falling; and had not delimited the openings in the attics and work platforms with suitable parapets, footboards or planks.

Furthermore, the entrepreneur had failed to verify the safety conditions of the workers, not checking the application of the safety and coordination plan of the construction site and the safety coordinator technician had not ensured that the companies carrying out the works respected the safety provisions of the construction site.

In addition to the complaint, for this they risk a fine of up to 28 thousand euros. The entrepreneur had employed two workers illegally and for this reason the carabinieri contested administrative sanctions for over twelve thousand euros, prescribing the suspension of the activity until the safety conditions on the construction site are restored.
