Professor Foscari's Lectio magistralis in Vietri sul Mare. The appointment is for Friday, November 25, at 18:30 pm at the frescoed oratory of the Arciconfraternita.
Turning point for the IX edition of the cultural meetings of the Vietri cultural association “La Congrega Letteraria”: after the intense weekend with Pasolini, the award ceremony of the poetry competition for students “Poesis – Vietri sul Mare”, and the lesson of the Greek scholar Prof. Eva Cantarella at the council chamber of the Municipality, Prof. Giuseppe Foscari, associate professor at the Department of Political and Social Studies – Disps of the University of Salerno, will hold the lectio magistralis “1922: MILD FASCISM OR PREDONIO FASCISM?”.

The appointment is for Friday, November 25, at 18:30 pm at the frescoed oratory of the Arciconfraternita, in via S. Giovanni 13 in Vietri sul Mare (SA), with free admission until all seats are taken.
The long-awaited report by the professor, a constant friend of Vietri sul Mare and the Congrega Letteraria, will be preceded by institutional greetings from Mayor Giovanni de Simone and moderated by journalist Aniello Palumbo. The event, along with the others on the program, is conceived and organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Vietri sul Mare, also thanks to the commitment of Maestro Luigi Avallone, and the Pro Loco of Vietri sul Mare, in the persons of Cosmo Di Mauro and Vittorio Mendozzi.

Fascism came to power in 1922 and then implemented political strategies to enter the hearts and minds of the people. A moral suasion that also leveraged aggressive and violent attitudes. Was it, therefore, a mild regime in its first acts or did it already show its true nature in its first hundred days?
Among the editorial contributions, and in collective and monographic volumes of Prof. Foscari, we recall the essays “La gran machina della solleuatione. Two cities and a leader of the people in the revolt of Masaniello (1647 – 1648)”, published by Ipermedium libri in 2015; and “Carlo Afan de Rivera. Politics and conservative modernization in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies”, published by D'Amico Editore, 2018; and the historical novel “L'Americana”, Marlin Editore, 2019.
