The poster of Napoli Magica has been revealed, the new film directed by and starring Marco D'Amore, a special event in cinemas on 5, 6 and 7 December distributed by Vision Distribution.
The film will be previewed during the 40th edition of the Turin Film Festival, Out of Competition.
Napoli Magica is a Sky Original film, produced by Sky and Mad Entertainment in collaboration with Vision Distribution. The story and screenplay are by Marco D'Amore and Francesco Ghiaccio.
What do you look for in Naples when you have always lived there or when you visit it for the first time? Why is its soul so different from others? Where does its magic reside? Marco D'Amore wants to find out and to do so there is only one way: he must cross it and get lost to find the unexpected enchantment. You have to dig the tuff stone of its subsoils to unearth its mysteries and its legends, its spirits, its ancient voices, its ghosts and its myths. The maze of tunnels dug for three thousand years is the tomb of the secrets on which the entire city rests.
And then reality becomes fairytale, and so in Napoli Magica the iconic places—the Fontanelle cemetery, Castel dell'Ovo, the chapel of the Veiled Christ, the Catacombs of San Gaudioso—come to life while the faces of the people encountered in the streets contrast with the characters of myth (the siren Parthenope, the munaciello, the souls pezzentelle, Pulcinella).
In this journey, the city takes on new shapes and contours, arousing contrasting feelings, in a continuous game of opposites. Naples is a glance or an infinity of views, as if one were observing it from the heights of the hills that surround it, or from the underground passages that pass through it, or finally, through the eyes of all the souls that have inhabited it on the surface or in its cavities until now. Magic Naples gives the mystery the familiar form and awaits answers never revealed by oracles.
