'Dreaming of revolution', Flavio Giordano in Camerota to present his book. A new appointment of Liber Fest: Books for a free thought.
On Saturday 19 November, at 18:30 pm, at the headquarters of the Fondazione Meeting del Mare CREA in Camerota, Flavio Giordano will present his latest book, entitled “Sognando la Rivoluzione”, published by Edizioni dell'Ippogrifo.
Giangaetano Petrillo, deputy mayor of Camerota, explains why Giordano's book was chosen for the next appointment:
"In a historical moment of strong political disorientation, where the tendency of the electorate appears increasingly schizophrenic, where the left, and the broader field of social democratic forces, are struggling for ideas, vision and credibility, with the book by Flavio Giordano "Sognando la Rivoluzione" we resume our appointments with "LiberFest: books for a free thought", placing the objective of our comparison and our discussion on some particularly delicate years for our country. Happy for the reformism of Italy, which precisely in those years, also thanks to an opening of the government experience to the left, with the inclusion of the Italian Socialist Party in government, experienced a strong push for reform and innovation. It will be important above all to grasp the importance of the student movements, given to the national cause, which arose in the south of Italy, in Salerno and Naples. Flavio Giordano, as the historian Alfonso Conte reminds us in the preface, recovers the memory of the generous activity of many young militants from Naples and Salerno, committed to promoting street demonstrations to claim the right to work, to study, to a home. An experiment born from the anxiety of participating in a collective project, of getting one's hands dirty to try to understand how to contribute to the redemption of those condemned to subordination".
Alfonso Conte, professor of Contemporary History at the University of Salerno, and Massimiliano Amato, journalist and director of the Historiae series, will also participate in the conference.
