The Carabinieri of the Pomezia Station, at first light of the day, went to Napoli to arrest a man and a woman aged 47 and 69.
The two are seriously suspected of defrauding an elderly woman from Pomezia, stealing several gold objects and nearly €5 in cash. On the morning of October 26, the woman received a call from a caller who falsely told her that her nephew needed money to prevent his parents from being arrested.
At that point a man showed up at the lady's house and recited his script, convincing herelderly The woman was forced to hand over all her belongings. While fleeing, the man was stopped by the Carabinieri, who also identified a woman waiting for him in the car and managed to return the valuables and money to the unfortunate woman.
The Velletri Court's response was swift, and at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, it issued an order placing the man who was caught leaving the woman's home in pre-trial detention, and the woman who was waiting for him in the car under house arrest.
