Yesterday afternoon the police officers from the police station Vicar– Mercato, during the territory control service, while passing through vico VI Duchesca they noticed a man who gave something to a person riding a scooter; the two, at the sight of the operators, took to flight.
The police, after a short chase that ended in the same street, reached and blocked the man in a building, finding him in possession of 30 SIM cards and 3 cell phones, the origin of which he was unable to explain. They also carried out a check at his home where they found another 173 SIM cards; the other, however, managed to disappear.
The man, a 24-year-old Gambian with a criminal record, was reported for receiving stolen goods. The police are on the trail of the fugitive and are now investigating to ascertain the origin of the SIM cards and especially their use and what kind of market moves around them.
