On the afternoon of January 5th, on the occasion of the Epiphany, the Provincial Commander of the Guardia di Finanza of Avellino, Col. Salvatore Minale, and representatives of the subordinate departments, went to the headquarters of the Youth Center of the Diocese of Avellino , to deliver toys purchased thanks to donations made by the yellow flames serving in the city and province to the children of the Ukrainian community present in Irpinia, victims of the current war.
Present at the initiative was Don Vitaliano Della Sala, Vice Director of the local Diocesan Caritas, who, also on behalf of the Bishop of Avellino, HE Mons. Arturo Aiello, thanked the Corps for its closeness and solidarity.
The presence of the splendid “financial dog” Jaquè, on duty at the newly established Alpine Rescue Station of the Guardia di Finanza in Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, helped to further brighten up the children's day, to whom we tried to give moments of joy and lightheartedness.
The initiative, with a high ethical and social value, demonstrates the Corps' concrete attention to those in need, underlining its role as an economic and financial police force that protects, safeguards and reassures the weakest subjects and the part of the population in difficulty, as well as the local institutions with which it dialogues and compares itself on a daily basis to improve the functioning of the public machine.
