BarraYesterday afternoon the Hawks of the Flying Squad, during the territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Center, intervened in Corso IV Novembre for a report of a scam in progress to the detriment of an elderly person.
In particular, the man, pretending to be his nephew, had contacted the elderly man by phone asking him to pay a sum of money to a courier who would soon arrive to deliver a package. The victim, suspicious, had asked for help from her neighbor who had immediately gone to her house where, looking out from the balcony, she had seen two people with a package.
The police officers, arriving on the scene, noticed the two men and stopped one of them on a scooter, finding him in possession of two cell phones and 1100 euros; the other, however, attempted to escape but was caught and stopped after a fight.
SC, a 21-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, and GS, a 30-year-old Neapolitan under house arrest for fraud, were arrested for attempted aggravated fraud; the 21-year-old was also arrested for assault and resisting a public official, while the 30-year-old was also arrested for evasion.
