Raffaele Di Meo, known as Micciarella, will be a new protagonist in the Juvenile Penal Institute (IPM).

Cinema, theatre and television, three art forms that for years have represented a fixed point in the life of the very young Neapolitan actor Giuseppe Pirozzi.

Among the talents of Peppe Mastrocinque's PM5 Talent, with a strong predisposition for acting, the young Pirozzi - born in 2008 - has taken part in various films and TV series since an early age, without neglecting the stage.

In less than a month, starting next February 15th, we will see him in prime time on Raidue grappling with a new adventure. Giuseppe Pirozzi will be Raffaele Di Meo called Micciarella, in the third season of the successful TV series “Mare Fuori”.

Raffele Di Meo outside the Juvenile Penal Institute (IPM) has a drug addict mother and a brother, Luigi, whom he admires with all his heart. Luigi is a father, a friend, an accomplice to him.

“My character is called Micciarella because he is small and is like a fuse, which you light, it feeds little by little, until it explodes. It is a different role from those I have played so far. Usually I have played dramatic roles, but this time it is totally different. Micciarella is a boy who experiences strong, explosive emotions, such as anger, euphoria, joy. In four months of filming, I have never shot a sad, dramatic scene. There are some aspects of Micciarella that I would change, which you will then understand by watching the series.

So I hope that in the future there will be an evolution of my character. As for my entry on the set of a series that is already underway and successful, I must say that initially it scared me a little. I was afraid that they would give me a subdued role, then reading the script I understood that Micciarella had a lot to tell. Through his vicissitudes, his actions and the consequences of his behavior, I think that this boy can send a strong message, of hope and at the same time also educational”.

Giuseppe Pirozzi (15 years old, from Naples) is in his second year at the Alfonso Casanova Institute, where he studies Languages and Techniques of Audiovisual Design and Communication. At the age of three he lands on the big screen, albeit in a small role, in the film “Benvenuti al Nord” by Luca Miniero. A few years pass and in the meantime the young Pirozzi grows, but his passion for acting grows more and more. He begins to frequent the theater environment, he lends himself as an extra in some films, including “Troppo napoletano” directed by Gianluca Ansanelli. In 2018 he begins his studies at the University of Cinema in Naples directed by Peppe Mastrocinque.

In 2019 he took part in the short film “La musica è finita” directed by his father Vincenzo and in the same year he played small roles in the films “Martin Eden” by Pietro Marcello and “Pinocchio” by Matteo Garrone. From that moment, with the support of the PM5 Talent Agency, the young Giuseppe's path thickened with new projects that led him to cover more important roles such as that of Tommaso in “Fino ad essere felici” a 2020 film, the first work by Francesco Cipoletta.

In 2021 he plays Cristiano, one of the friends of little Tettè, in the fourth episode of the first season of “Il Commissario Ricciardi”. In the same year his big opportunity arrives, playing a leading role, that of Ciro, alongside Silvio Orlando in the film directed by Roberto Andò, entitled “Il bambino nascosto”. In 2022 he plays the role of Peppino, son of Raffaele Acampora (Giuseppe Zeno) in the film aired on Raiuno “Tutto per mio figlio”. Also in 2022 he participates in the theatrical project “Viviani per strada” by Nello Mascia, in the two one-act comedies, verses, prose and music by Raffaele Viviani entitled “'O cafè 'e notte e ghiuorno (Night and day café)” and “'Nterr' 'a 'Mmaculatella (Maritime dock)”.

Among the upcoming projects, in addition to the third season of “Mare Fuori”, to be released in 2023, the film “Piano piano” directed by Nicola Prosatore, presented at the 76th edition of the Locarno Film Festival and at the Rome Film Festival in the parallel section “Alice nella Città”, an event in which Pirozzi received the RB Casting Award – Best Young Italian Actor.
