The first “endopank” was inaugurated in Naples, on Via Foria, it is the one hundred and fifty-second bench in Italy. The event was held in the presence of the Honorable Gilda Sportiello, the President of the Municipality Fabio Greco, the Welfare Councilor Teresa Esposito, the Councilor Regina Aluzzi and the tutor of the Association “La voce di una è la voce di tutti” Alessia Lipardi.

The first yellow bench to raise awareness about endometriosis. It is the first action of a project that will continue in synergy with the institutions and the third sector to support the many young people who suffer from this disease. The initiative aims to raise awareness especially among young people and their families because, to date, endometriosis has an estimated diagnostic delay of about 7/9 years and it is essential to have an early diagnosis to avoid permanent disabling damage.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease, to date there is no cure that can lead to recovery. It is endometrial-like tissue that, for reasons still unknown, attaches itself to the organs more or less close to the uterus (e.g. ovaries, intestine, bladder, ureters, kidneys, diaphragm) damaging them.
