Gennaro Chieffo and a 25-year-old woman from Scafati with no criminal record were arrested by the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata radiomobile unit after stealing 35 litres of cooking oil from an oil mill in poggiomarino.
The couple, intercepted by the military while they were on board a car they owned, in an attempt to escape, tried to ram the Carabinieri car. The action was unsuccessful and the military arrested both of them. The 26-year-old is now in the Poggioreale prison while the 25-year-old is under house arrest. Robbery in competition and resisting a public official are the crimes contested.
