The checks carried out during the football match played yesterday between Lecce and Salernitana (1-2) allowed the police forces to seize a large package thrown from a bus of Salerno fans during a check.
Inside were iron bars, metal chains, telescopic truncheons, pyrotechnics, smoke bombs, and firecrackers. Later, a minivan, still occupied by Campania fans, contained a dozen large rigid plastic tubes.

A 22-year-old man from Salento was also reported for being in possession of three smoke bombs and a metal telescopic truncheon. Over 20.000 spectators attended the match, as well as over a thousand Salerno fans who arrived in private cars, minivans, and seven buses, escorted by State Police personnel on both the outward and return journeys.
