On Friday, February 3, at 21 pm, at the Trianon Viviani, Tony Cercola, with important guests, will tell his story and preview some songs from his new album.
In this concert, entitled “Suonando mi racconto”, the percussionist and author, or “percussautore”, as he likes to call himself, will stage the most intense and comical moments of his life through anecdotes and songs.
Guests of the evening, introduced by Ciro Tumolillo, Patrizio Trampetti, Gianni Lamagna, Gino Magurno and Ugo Mazzei.
Cercola will perform unusual and unexpected songs, with a tribute to Gegè Di Giacomo. The evening, which will open with the screening of the video of “Maronna mia”, shot with Pino Daniele and broadcast in 1978 on Rai 2, will alternate melancholic and ironic sounds with the rhythms of the repertoire of his career approaching half a century of activity, between an Italian and Moroccan sound.
During the evening, some songs from the latest album “Almas” will also be performed in preview. With a title that means “souls”, this work collects the emotions experienced by Cercola in the last three years and represents his new artistic path, unravelling between different musical fields and distant from Neapolitan power. The album is made with the use of three dialects: Neapolitan, Sicilian and Lucanian.
