This morning, during their territorial control service, officers from the Posillipo Police Station intervened at a restaurant on Via Manzoni following a report of a robbery.
The officers, arriving on the scene, surprised a man brandishing a knife who was rummaging behind the counter in the bar area; at the sight of them, the man threatened them until the police, after a fight, managed to disarm him and stop him, finding him in possession of 620 euros.
The officers ascertained that the man had entered the premises shortly before but had been discovered by the cleaner; the latter, in fact, said that the man, brandishing a knife taken from the premises' kitchen, had ordered him not to come near while he was taking money from the register.
PR, a 43-year-old Moldovan illegally residing in the country, was arrested for aggravated robbery, assault, resisting a public official and illegal possession of weapons, and was also reported for illegal entry and residence in the country.
