The carabinieri of the company of Montella they arrested a 37 year old from Lioni for violence, resistance and injuries to a public official as well as driving under the influence of alcohol. It happened yesterday afternoon in Torella dei Lombardi.
During a routine traffic check, the Carabinieri of the Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi forestry station ordered the car driven by the man, already known to the police, to stop. In view of the obvious symptoms, the driver was invited to undergo an alcohol test.
At the same time, a patrol from the Aliquota Radiomobile of the Montella company intervened on the spot, already engaged in that area in a normal patrol service. During the phases of ascertaining the blood alcohol level, which later turned out to be higher than the limit allowed for driving, the man suddenly lunged at the carabinieri, hitting them with violent punches to the head and face.
Once stopped, the 37-year-old was taken to the barracks and, by order of the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office, placed under house arrest, pending his appearance before a judge for a summary trial.
