Yesterday evening, the Falcons of the Flying Squad, during a service to combat predatory crimes, while passing along Corso Umberto at the corner with Via Arnaldo Cantani, noticed a scooter with two people on board, the driver of which was wearing a balaclava, proceeding at high speed in the direction of Piazza Mercato.
The police chased them and, when they arrived, Market Square, they ordered them to stop but the two, at the sight of them, abandoned the motorcycle and attempted to disappear on foot.
At that moment, the driver pulled out a gun which then fell to the ground, releasing the magazine, but the officers, after a struggle, stopped him.
The passenger, however, recovered the weapon and fled without a trace.
MG, a 21-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, was arrested for resisting a public official and causing injury; finally, the magazine and the balaclava were seized.
