The Carabinieri of Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo, in the province of Avellino, reported a 40-year-old at large for resisting a public official, refusing to undergo toxicology tests, and driving with a revoked license.
It happened Saturday morning in Summonte. During a routine patrol, the Carabinieri noticed a local man, whose license had already been revoked, driving an Audi. When they ordered him to stop, the man responded by recklessly fleeing the scene, creating a dangerous situation for other road users, who were alerted by the Carabinieri patrol car's flashing lights and siren.
Stopped in Avellino, in an evident state of agitation, the driver refused the invitation to undergo a drug test, uttering insulting and threatening phrases towards the officers.
