The carabinieri of San Giorgio del Sannio They executed a personal precautionary measure prohibiting a 40-year-old man from approaching places frequented by the injured party, issued by the Benevento investigating judge (GIP) for attempting to set fire to a car.
The investigation began in December 2022, after an intervention near the victim's home, a 32-year-old man, where his car, which had been doused with gasoline, was parked. At that time, two plastic bottles containing gasoline were also found hidden behind a tree inside a bag: one half-empty and the other with the cap on and still containing gasoline.
The suspect had been noticed by the victim's father near the car, and was stopped and identified by the Carabinieri, who also noticed the smell of gasoline coming from him. The examination of surveillance cameras in the area and at the nearby gas station, as well as the statements made by the thirty-two-year-old in the complaint, information from witnesses, and documentary evidence, led to the precautionary measure.
