In the week just ended, the Italian Army together with the Police Forces and the municipal police, on the basis of the planning of the Control Room "Terra dei fuochi", chaired by the Delegate Filippo Romano, under the coordination of the prefectures of Naples and Caserta, conducted control activities in dozens of commercial activities, with a massive deployment of personnel and vehicles, anticipated by the search and surveillance of the territory by the Remotely Piloted Aircraft and ground patrols of the Army, as well as by the drones of the Fire Brigade and the Air and Naval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza.
On February 1st, by order of the Caserta Police Headquarters, the “Campania” Group of the Italian Army, led by the First Bersaglieri Regiment, together with the territorial police forces, operated in the municipalities of Santa Maria a Vico, Arienzo and San Felice a Cancello, in the province of Caserta.
The joint operations involved patrols from the territorial Carabinieri, the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza, as well as the competent Local Police of the municipalities involved, the Naples Metropolitan Police, and personnel from ARPAC, the ICQRF of Naples and the ASL of Caserta, seizing, from an illegal workshop, 20 cubic meters of waste and a total of 120 square meters of waste storage areas, which led to the seizure of the commercial activity.
Following various identifications, 2 people were reported at liberty. At the end of the operation, fines of 10 thousand Euro were imposed.
