A car was stolen between Friday night and Saturday in Cardito.
The theft was captured on video surveillance cameras, which captured two hooded individuals forcing the door and walking away undisturbed in just two minutes.
The car was later found completely incinerated, abandoned in a field, near a fast-flowing road. All this just to get hold of a catalytic converter.
“Crime is completely out of control. A crime is committed even for a few pennies. Stealing a car because it needs a catalytic converter, which, moreover, has a low cost, is a sign of how the number of those who have chosen crime as a vocation is constantly increasing.
The Cardito episode summarizes two crimes in one, the theft of the car and then setting it on fire, serious environmental damage. It is necessary to implement strong and decisive actions to contrast and prevent the rampant crime that is polluting our region. Free zones no longer exist and citizens do not feel safe.
With Europa Verde we will continue to ask, as we have always done, for constant patrolling of the streets and checks that must be carried out by multiplying the installation of video surveillance cameras on our territory. These criminals cannot go unpunished”. These are the words of Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of the Green Alliance – Left who received the video of the theft and the photos of the fire.
