Casalnuovo di Napoli, February 05, 2023. The 2023 Call for Entries for the Una Città Che Scrive Literary Award, eighth edition, has been published. The “Una Città Che…” Association, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the death of Luigi Vanvitelli, the extraordinary Neapolitan architect, intends to remember and celebrate him, retracing his life, through a special section of the literary competition, born in Casalnuovo di Napoli in 2016, and now in its eighth edition.
The initiative will be titled “Vanvitelli: a life for beauty. Special section of the eighth edition of the Una Città Che Scrive Literary Award”.
Let us remember that – among other works – the architect Luigi Vanvitelli designed the Royal Palace of Caserta, commissioned by the King of Naples Charles of Bourbon.
"For this new edition we intend to celebrate Vanvitelli and with him our Region. The texts with which you can participate in the special section must, in fact, be inspired by the beauties of our land, Campania", the comment of Giovanni Nappi, creator of the national literary competition.
The Special Section for Luigi Vanvitelli comes after the extraordinary success of the last edition, reserved for the Island of Procida, Italian Capital of Culture.
The Competition must be entered no later than May 12, 2023. The awards ceremony is scheduled for June.
The event will be hosted by the small Museo Biblioteca Sociale Giacomo Leopardi in Casalnuovo di Napoli, where we will not miss other tributes (Readings, Paintings, Sculptures) to Luigi Vanvitelli.
