Gianluca Camilli plays every morning in Caserta, among runners and dogs.
An almost old-fashioned music accompanies every sunny morning the runners or dog owners who spend time in the green and well-kept meadows of the ex Saint Gobain area of Caserta. It is that of Gianluca Camilli, one of the members of the San Carlo orchestra of Naples, who with his trombone goes to play outdoors every morning, spreading a relaxing air fully inserted in the quiet context of the southern outskirts of Caserta. Camilli lives in San Nicola la Strada, a municipality that borders the ex Saint Gobain area, for decades an industrial area then abandoned and converted into a green area and headquarters of public offices such as the Province and the ASL.
Many Caserta residents take advantage of the tranquility and low traffic to spend time away from the fast pace of the city. “I come here so as not to disturb the neighbors and because it is fascinating to play outdoors,” says Camilli. after all, for me playing is a passion, but it's also a job, so you have to keep in constant training. I always carry my trombone with me. And what's better than accompanying people with music, which is something that takes you and kidnaps you, and never lets you go. It happened to me when I was little, and I'm still here playing wherever it happens”.
Some runners stop curiously and listen, letting themselves be carried away by Camilli's music, and even the dogs seem enraptured by the sound of the San Carlo orchestra player who, sitting on his chair, stops and then starts again.
A few hours and then Camilli will also return to his routine. At the San Carlo, the rehearsals of Macbeth await him. “But playing outdoors - he concludes - reconcile with ourselves and the world around us”.
