Putting yourself in the victim's shoes or experiencing the perpetrator's intentions firsthand through the use of immersive virtual reality with the aim of preventing antisocial behavior.
This is the new #neipannidicaino project, created by the Department of Public Security - Central Directorate for the traffic, railway, communications and special units of the State Police in collaboration with the Department of Psychology of Sapienza University of Rome, funded with funds from the PON (National Operational Programme) Legality of the Ministry of the Interior.
The aim of the program, which is absolutely original even in the international academic panorama, is to build a training protocol that enhances the different perspectives of the victim and the perpetrator of illegal conduct through the projection on 3D viewers of scenarios and situations constructed to induce deep emotional states.

Starting from schools, a new training method based on scientific evidence has been created, aimed at raising awareness and making young adolescents aware of issues such as cyberbullying, online grooming, hate speech, sexting, challenges and other antisocial behaviors. The research activity underlying the project is based on the analysis and comparison of psychophysiological parameters, such as heart rate (HRV) and skin conductance (GSR), and explicit parameters, such as the measurement of behavioral data and the analysis of digital surveys.
The final goal of #neipannidicaino is precisely to raise awareness among boys and girls about the correct use of the Internet, thus preventing antisocial behavior online. The Department of Psychology and the State Police have, therefore, innovated the educational experience through the adoption of a new training paradigm intended for secondary school students in the PON Regions (Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia, Campania, Sicily).
The project is currently landing in Campania. It starts on February 27th with the four pilot schools, specifically at 11:00 am at the Liceo Artistico Statale 'Bruno Munari' in Acerra and on February 28th, at 10:30 am, at the ISIS 'Attilio Romanò' in Naples. The psychologists will then stop on March 1st, at 10:00 am, at the IIS 'Francesco Degni' in Torre del Greco and on March 2nd, at 9:30 am at the Istituto 'Galileo Ferraris' in Caserta.
