"Let's abolish the limited number of places in medical school and defend public healthcare. We still have a limited number of places, while over 10 students go abroad to graduate because they failed the tests, often with absurd questions, and our emergency rooms lack doctors. Absurd."
This was declared by the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca. It's clear that if we abolish the restricted number of places today, we won't see the first results in six years, but let's at least start taking action. Let's provide incentives for emergency room doctors right away.
"Let's prevent them," the governor continued, "from leaving abroad or working in the private sector where they are better paid. Public healthcare must be defended because it is what the poor need. Those who can't afford private clinics must be cared for by public healthcare, especially the elderly.", concluded De Luca.
