“I have heard in recent weeks statements as demagogic as they are stupid about the health of the region. No one should dare to make controversy about the health of Campania.
For the resources and personnel we have, we have done and are doing miracles”. So said the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, during the live Facebook broadcast on Friday.
“I will read you some numbers on the availability of beds according to the Ministry of Health foreseen in public facilities: Lombardy 40 thousand beds for ordinary hospitalization, in Campania 12 thousand – he highlighted – We have had dramatic cuts in the national health fund for a decade.
Even today we are the Region that receives the least resources among all the Regions of Italy. It is a shame. There are no employees because the Ministry has not worked in this direction.
The personnel problem is obviously a national problem that risks weighing even more in our region because, as is known, we have had to work in these two years with 10-15 thousand fewer employees".
For De Luca, "despite this situation we have demonstrated that we are able to achieve excellent results in the fight against Covid. We are the region with the fewest Covid deaths in Italy, we are today the first region in Italy for payment times, for the electronic health record, for the program of new hospitals that we have put in place after we came out of the receivership, for the emergency-urgency networks.
We are completing a program for anti-diabetes centers that will make Campania the first region in Italy,” he concluded.
