“In Campania, the purchase of 208 new trains is planned, a billion and 200 million investment.
We have already delivered 117 vehicles to Trenitalia and 56 to Eav. 40 Stadler trains are under construction and the tender for another 60 trains to be purchased started yesterday”. The President of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, takes stock of transport during his usual appointment with the Facebook live on Friday afternoon.
“It will take 2 to 3 years – explains the governor -. We have years behind us in which the manufacturing companies have not worked, we have started again a few months ago to produce the trains, this is the time it takes: if someone is able to produce them in a week, let us know, we will go and buy them. The previous regional governments – De Luca underlines – have not purchased a new bus and a new train: nothing, we have not even found tenders launched for the purchase of new vehicles.
Compared to 0 investments we have this huge program of renewal of local public transport. For buses, the purchase of 1570 new buses is planned, an investment of 400 million euros. We delivered 910 in 2022, and there are another 2023 to be delivered from 660 onwards. Also for road transport – De Luca concludes – a gigantic program is underway.”
