The project by Mario Gelardi and Claudio Finelli is a true experiment in theatrical realism, which has been very successful and has found space in various festivals. “Today more than ever – the authors explain – the project aims to rediscover that theatrical intimacy between audience and actors stopped by the pandemic.
With the new perception brought about by the years of social distancing, the thin line that separates those who act and those who watch is even more interesting to experiment: in this edition we will try to scratch the fourth wall again, observing to what extent theatrical transgression is possible, mixing and dosing truth and fiction. We will bring two unpublished stories on stage inside the suggestive rooms of the Chiaja Hotel De Charme, which in this edition will not act as a simple scenography, but will have a dramaturgical function in the story”.
Due silenzi tells the naive and troubled story of two young people, who have to deal with unspeakable ghosts of their existences, kept silent to society and even to themselves: two silences that can bring the protagonists closer and further apart, opening the story to hypothetical resolutions; Alberto brings the tone of the event back to a farcical dimension, that of a love triangle, a tribute to the Italian comedy of the Sixties.
The concierge, in this version, will not be a simple companion but a narrator of the life that is breathed inside the hotel rooms. The Chiaja Hotel De Charme was born from the union of two historic apartments that make up the entire floor: “L'Antica Casa Lecaldano Sasso la Terza”, recovered from the historic home that the Marquis Nicola Lecaldano Sasso la Terza lived in between the late 800th and early 900th centuries, and the historic “Casino di Salita Sant'Anna di Palazzo 3”, known as “il 3” or “la Suprema”, closed by the Merlin law in 1958, merged shortly after. From its recovery, 11 other rooms were created, in which the ancient bohemian atmosphere was revived with brocade curtains and D'Annunzio wallpapers. Here you can stay in the rooms of Anastasia 'a Friulana, Mimì do Vesuvio, Nanninnela 'a Spagnola, Titina 'a Frangese and Dorina da Sorrento, who practiced the "oldest profession in the world" in the casino.
